Approach

Camilo approaches color grading as chromatic architecture: each choice supports emotional tone, narrative clarity, and cinematic intent. His work blends photochemical influence with contemporary precision, treating color as a structural element of storytelling rather than a surface effect.

Mentored by Dado Valentic and named Best in Class for his thesis “Coloring Emotions: A Visual Exploration of AGFA Color Through Film History,” Camilo brings a rare combination of visual theory and production fluency. His background includes directing and screenwriting training under Peter Markham (AFI) and Robert McKee, as well as experimental filmmaking in Super 8 and 16mm—grounding his color work in a deep, practical understanding of cinematic language.
