Approach

Camilo approaches grading as chromatic architecture, where each choice supports emotional tone, story clarity, and cinematic intent. His work blends photochemical inspiration with contemporary precision, utilizing color as a narrative structure rather than a surface effect.

Mentored by Dado Valentic and named Best in Class for his thesis, "Coloring Emotions: A Visual Exploration of AGFA Color Through Film History," Camilo brings a unique combination of visual theory and production fluency. He integrates training in directing and screenwriting under Peter Markham (AFI) and Robert McKee, as well as experimental filmmaking in Super 8 and 16mm, grounding his color work in a deep understanding of cinematic language.
